OCQ(V) - UX (Ungulate Exports)

The OCQ(V) - UX - Export of ungulates including equidae (Previously Panel 1g - Export/Import of Equine Animals; Panel 1j and 1p - Export of Farm Animals; Part Panels 1h and 1i – Export of Large Zoo and Laboratory Animals) is for vets applying for training as an OV authorised to sign Export Health Certificates related to the export of ungulates including equidae.  OV's provide advice to their clients in compliance with the requirements of current legislation, professional guidelines and APHA/EU/Third Country procedures.  Topics covered include:
  1. Procedures and requirements for the export of ungulates with particular reference to variation of procedural and documentary requirements related to country of destination, transit counties and species
  2. Legal, professional and APHA requirements and procedures relevant to the OV undertaking export certification for ungulates, including detailed consideration of species-specific requirements.
  3. The  legal and professional responsibilities of OV's relating to safeguarding the welfare of ungulates presented for export.
  4. The development of skills required for the resolution of queries/problems relevant to the export of ungulates.
  5. Familiarisation with the Defra, APHA, RCVS and other websites providing information to refresh knowledge.

Before applying for OCQ(V) - UX training, you are required to have completed OCQ(V) - ES, followed by OCQ(V) – EX, PRIOR to commencing this species specific module.

You are required to undergo revalidation every three years.
